Construction Manager - Commercial Refrigeration Pipework & HVAC

Melbourne VIC | Full-Time | Commercial HVAC Projects

Our Client

We are seeking an experienced Construction or Project Manager to take ownership of commercial refrigerant pipework and condensate drain projects from award through to practical completion and defects liability. This is a hands-on leadership role delivering high-quality mechanical services projects across large-scale commercial developments.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of mechanical packages, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to specification.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the commercial construction department in VIC
• Preparing and managing budgets, variations, progress claims, and forecasting
• Leading site teams including supervisors, leading hands, trades, and apprentices
• Chairing project meetings and providing clear reporting to stakeholders
• Managing procurement of materials, plant, and equipment in line with programme requirements

About You

You are a capable and confident Project Manager or Construction Manager with strong mechanical/HVAC delivery experience and the ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently.

You will bring:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial mechanical or HVAC project management
• Proven experience delivering end-to-end mechanical packages
• Strong knowledge of refrigerant pipework, condensate drainage, and VRF/VRV systems
• Experience managing projects valued at $1M+
• Ability to lead supervisors, leading hands, trades, and subcontractors
• Proficiency with project management systems such as Procore, Monday.com, or VisiBuild

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Trade qualification in refrigeration, mechanical plumbing, or related discipline
• Experience in design and estimating
• Tertiary qualification in construction management, project management, or engineering
• Experience working with tier 1 or tier 2 builders
