Experienced Mine Production Engineer wanted for a residential role at a high-grade underground gold mine near Bendigo - 8/6 roster, home every shift.

The role

Reporting to the Senior Production Engineer, you'll take ownership of drill and blast design, stope management and production performance. You'll work closely with production supervisors, surveyors, geologists and paste supervisors day to day - it's a genuinely collaborative role with real breadth and direct impact on how the mine performs.

Your key duties will include:

  • Drill and blast design including paste fill in line with operational requirements
  • Tracking production performance against the weekly plan, identifying non-conformance and generating recovery options
  • Stope performance measurement and reconciliation of actual to plan
  • Measuring, recording and reporting longhole rise and deviation performance
  • Day-to-day stope management support and handover inspections of production areas
  • Liaising with survey to ensure timely data capture for design set-out and stope measurement

The roster

8/6 roster, 12-hour shifts with a 5:30am start

Your skills and experience

You'll have solid underground experience, a sound understanding of stope management and production planning, and a genuine commitment to safety. You'll also have:

  • Tertiary degree in mining engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Deswik and Aegis or similar mine design and blast software
  • Strong planning, organisational and communication skills
  • Valid manual driver's licence
  • Underground drill and blast experience (desirable)
