Site Engineer Opportunities - Multiple Organisations (Melbourne, Regional VIC, Interstate)

A select group of Victoria's leading civil contractors and infrastructure delivery partners are currently seeking five (5) Site Engineers to fill critical vacancies across several high-profile projects.

These roles represent opportunities within different established businesses, each offering unique company cultures and project scopes ranging from metro civil works to major regional utility upgrades.

Available Project Streams

Candidates will be considered for placement within one of the following specialised streams:

  • Civil Infrastructure (Melbourne-based): 2 positions within Tier 2 contractors focusing on commercial civil projects in relation to data centre projects.

  • Pipeline & Utility Infrastructure (Regional VIC/Interstate): 2 positions with utility specialists managing large-scale water pipeline and pump station projects.

  • Tier 1 structural subcontractor (Melbourne-based): 1 position with a mechanical-civil contractor focusing on the construction and integration of water treatment pump stations.

Role Overview

The Site Engineer acts as the technical heartbeat of the project. Working closely with Project Managers and Site Foremen, the incumbent ensures that engineering designs are translated accurately and safely into the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Supervision: The Site Engineer interprets design drawings and ensures subcontractors adhere to project specifications and Australian Standards.

  • Quality Control: They are responsible for the rigorous management of ITPs, material testing, and the compilation of final handover documentation.

  • Project Controls: The role involves monitoring project schedules, tracking daily production rates, and managing site-level procurement and variations.

  • Safety & Environment: They ensure all activities comply with Victorian WHS regulations and project-specific environmental management plans.

Essential Requirements

  • Mandatory Local Experience: Candidates must demonstrate recent, hands-on experience within the Victorian construction industry. A thorough understanding of local authority standards (such as VicRoads, Melbourne Water, or regional water catchments) is vital for success in these roles.

  • Education: A recognised Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government bodies and local councils.

  • Mobility: A valid Driver's License is required. For the pipeline and pump station roles, the Site Engineer must be willing to work on regional rosters or travel as project milestones dictate.

These roles offer competitive salary packages tailored to the specific business and project location. If the applicant possesses the required local Victorian experience and is ready to contribute to the state's 2026 infrastructure pipeline, please submit a CV for consideration.
