Senior Project Engineer needed for complex water infrastructure projects across pipelines, pump stations and treatment plants in Central Victoria.
An established Tier 2 civil contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support the delivery of a strong pipeline of water infrastructure projects across Northern Melbourne and Central Victoria.
With an interesting and growing pipeline of technically challenging works, this is an excellent opportunity to join a contractor delivering complex infrastructure across pipelines, pump stations and treatment plants.
The business has an exciting range of upcoming projects, offering the opportunity to take ownership of major engineering deliverables, work closely with experienced project teams and play a key role in delivering critical water infrastructure.
Ideally, you'll be based in or around the Gisborne region, providing convenient access to the project's locations.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you'll play a key role in coordinating the engineering, technical and commercial aspects of project delivery, working closely with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing engineering activities across water infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations and treatment plants.
Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, procurement and site resources.
Overseeing project programmes, budgets, cost tracking and variations.
Managing technical documentation, design coordination and construction methodologies.
Monitoring project progress to ensure works are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Ensuring quality assurance, environmental and safety requirements are met.
Identifying and resolving technical challenges throughout construction.
Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and key project stakeholders.
Supporting and mentoring junior engineers while contributing to the overall success of the delivery team.
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:
A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer within civil construction.
Experience delivering water infrastructure projects, ideally involving pipelines, pump stations or treatment plants.
Strong technical knowledge and an understanding of civil construction methodologies.
Experience coordinating subcontractors, procurement, project costs and programmes.
The ability to manage competing priorities and solve technical challenges on site.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
A proactive, hands-on approach to project delivery.
Candidates with relevant experience across water, utilities or other complex underground infrastructure projects are encouraged to apply.
