The Role

Seeking a Civil Project Engineer to play a key role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of civil construction projects.

This position is suited to an engineer who takes ownership of project outcomes and enjoys being involved from early-stage planning through to completion. You will work closely with the Site Manager and broader delivery team, focusing on engineering, programming, cost control, and subcontractor coordination to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

While site-based involvement is essential, the core focus of this role is on technical delivery, project controls, and supporting overall project performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documentation, identifying risks and resolving technical queries
• Develop and implement practical, cost-effective engineering solutions
• Support project planning, including programming, sequencing, and methodology development
• Monitor project progress, productivity, and costs against budgets and schedules
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to maintain workflow and program adherence
• Assist with procurement, contract administration, and reporting requirements
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, client specifications, and ISO systems
• Promote a strong safety culture by identifying risks and supporting safe work practices

Skills & Experience

• Experience in a Project Engineer role within civil construction
• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of project planning, cost control, and contract administration
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and manage engineering challenges
• High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
• Effective communication skills and ability to work across site and office teams
