About the Role
A career opportunity is available for a Building Approvals Coordinator/Permits Officer to join a high performing residential home builder. The ideal candidate is motivated, proactive, and eager to develop their skills in a dynamic role.
The Permits Officer manages client permit applications and works closely with private certifiers and local councils to secure building approvals efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Lodges building approval applications with certifiers
- Responds to and resolves conditions or queries from councils or certifiers regarding approvals
- Monitors the progress of all permit applications
- Reviews building and development approvals to ensure compliance
- Verifies covenant approvals where required
- Collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders to complete tasks and meet deadlines
Candidate Attributes
- Experience in residential construction or local council residential permits is highly regarded
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- Skilled in problem solving and resolving complex issues
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand architectural and building plans
- Previous certifier experience is highly regarded
