Civil / Utilities Estimator - Water Infrastructure (Live Sewer)
A leading civil and utilities contractor is seeking a highly motivated Estimator to join its growing team.
This role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal role in securing new projects by preparing competitive and accurate bids for water authorities. A focus on live sewer maintenance, both planned and reactive, is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Tender documents for water infrastructure projects, particularly those involving live sewer maintenance (planned and reactive), will be analyzed.
- Detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors will be prepared.
- Market research will be conducted to ensure pricing remains competitive and reflects current market conditions.
- Project information and technical details will be gathered through collaboration with project managers, and subcontractors.
- Strong relationships with water authorities will be developed and maintained.
- High-quality tender proposals that meet all client requirements will be prepared and submitted.
- Engaging with all stakeholders to ensure project will run smootly.
- Project costs will be tracked and analysed to ensure profitability.
- The Estimator will stay up-to-date with industry trends, pricing methods, and relevant water authority regulations.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Estimator in the civil or utilities sector is required.
- Proven experience in preparing and winning tenders for water infrastructure projects is essential.
- The candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of live sewer maintenance (planned and reactive) works, including associated costs and methodologies.
- A strong understanding of construction estimating principles, cost control practices, and risk mitigation strategies is necessary.
- Proficiency in estimating softwares and project management tools (e.g., MS Project) is required.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
- The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- A high level of motivation, a results-oriented approach, and a strong work ethic are valued qualities.
