The opportunity

An established underground gold mining operation in Central Victoria is looking for experienced Production Bogger Operators, Production Charge-Up Operators and Development Charge-Up Operators to join its growing team.

These are long-term permanent opportunities within a site entering an exciting period of growth and expansion. You'll join an experienced underground crew and contribute directly to safe production and the continued development of the mine.

The company

This established underground gold mine is located around the Bendigo region and is currently investing heavily in exploration, development and long-term growth.

The site operates on a residential and drive-in, drive-out basis, making it well suited to candidates already based in Central Victoria or those looking to relocate to the Bendigo region.

The roles

Production Bogger Operators

Working across underground production and development areas, you'll safely and efficiently operate CAT R2900 underground loaders.

Your duties will include:

  • Production bogging from stopes
  • Development and remote bogging where required
  • Stockpile management and truck loading
  • Moving ore and waste to support underground production targets
  • Completing pre-start inspections and reporting equipment defects
  • Communicating with supervisors, truck operators and the wider underground team
  • Maintaining safe and productive work areas throughout each shift

Production and Development Charge-Up Operators

Working within the underground production or development team, you'll safely prepare and charge stopes and development headings in line with blast plans and site procedures.

Your duties will include:

  • Production charging of stopes and production blasting areas
  • Development charging of headings and firing development rounds
  • Reading and following blast plans, charge instructions and tie-in designs
  • Safely handling, transporting and accounting for explosives
  • Operating underground charge-up equipment
  • Preparing work areas and completing all required safety checks
  • Maintaining accurate explosives records and documentation
  • Identifying and reporting hazards, misfires and equipment defects
  • Working closely with supervisors, jumbo operators and the wider underground team
  • Following all site, explosives and environmental procedures

Your skills and experience

Depending on the position, you'll bring:

  • Previous underground production mining experience
  • Proven experience operating underground boggers or completing charge-up duties
  • Relevant underground operating competencies
  • Current explosives qualifications and licences for the Charge-Up position
  • Strong knowledge of underground mining procedures and safety requirements
  • Experience completing pre-start inspections and reporting defects
  • A current Australian manual driver's licence + Australian PR / Citizenship
  • The ability to work a continuous rotating day and night roster
  • A strong commitment to safety and teamwork

CAT R2900, remote bogging and narrow-vein mining experience will be highly regarded for the Bogger Operator position.

The roster

  • 7:7 roster
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Wednesday-to-Tuesday swings
  • 6:00 am to 6:00 pm or 6:00 pm to 6:00 am
