The role
Working as a site-based Field Service Technician, you'll diagnose, repair and maintain heavy earthmoving and mining equipment operating across a surface mine site in Tasmania.
The role offers plenty of autonomy and responsibility while providing the consistency of working at one location. You'll work closely with the mine site team to keep equipment operating safely and minimise downtime.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing heavy earthmoving and mining equipment
- Completing scheduled maintenance, breakdown repairs and major component replacements
- Working across engines, hydraulics, powertrain systems, transmissions and electrical systems
- Responding to equipment breakdowns across the surface mine
- Managing your workload and priorities while working independently
- Completing detailed service reports and documentation
- Liaising with site personnel, parts teams and internal service departments
- Maintaining a safe working environment and following company and mine site procedures
Your value and experience
You'll be a trade-qualified Diesel Technician or Mobile Plant Mechanic with experience working on earthmoving, mining, construction or other heavy equipment.
You'll also bring:
- Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities
- Previous field service, resident technician or mine site experience, ideally
- Sound experience across hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work alongside other crew members
- A strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- A full current driver's licence
