Shift Electrician

Raisebore Electrician role in SA | 12-hour shifts | $70-$75/hr + super | Heavy industrial experience welcomed | Temp-to-perm.

The Site and FIFO

The operation is a large underground hard rock mine located in regional South Australia, approximately one hour's flight from Adelaide. Backed by a multi-year contract, the site provides a high-quality FIFO experience.

Site features include:

• Modern, well-appointed camp facilities including gym and wet mess
• Camp located close to the mine to minimise daily travel
• High-quality catering and food standards

Roster & Hours

• 2:2 roster consisting of 14 days, followed by 14 days off
• 12-hour shifts on a Tuesday-to-Monday swing
• Fly to site on Day (Tuesday) and stay in camp prior to commencing day shift at 6:00am
• Fly home Tuesday morning at approximately 8:00am

The Duties

Reporting into the Leading Hand on crew, you'll enjoy working in a team responsible for the following duties on Raisebore drills:

60% Electrical

Rig power and control systems

• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the electrical systems on the raisebore rig itself (motors, drives, control panels, PLCs), wiring and maintaining variable frequency drives (VFDs) that control rig rotation and thrust, Fault-finding on electrical faults that cause downtime - a big focus since raisebore contracts are often time-critical

Site power distribution

• Running and maintaining power reticulation from substations/transformers to the rig site (often underground), Installing and maintaining switchboards, distribution boards, and cabling (both surface and underground), Managing high voltage (HV) reticulation where rigs draw significant power

Pumps and ancillary equipment

• Wiring and maintaining pumps (dewatering, flush water, hydraulic power units), ventilation fan electrical systems, Lighting for the work area, especially underground

40% Support

• Trade assisting, machine prep, relocating rigs, paperwork, general house keeping

Your Skills & Experience

Underground mining experience is not essential in your success in this role. Your mining, heavy industrial experience will be highly beneficial in your success in this role. You'll come armed with;

• Cert III Electrotechnology
• Minimum of 1 years post trade experience working in a heavy industrial environment
• Team player and have the ability to work autonomously
• Excellent attitude towards work, safety and working in a team

The Contract & Rates

Marble has a great relationship with the UG mining contractor and supply skilled workers on a temp to perm basis. This role should be viewed and long term and permanent. Transitions to perm after 6 swings.

• Marble contract rates (paid weekly) - $70.00ph - $75.00ph + super (depending on experience)
• Permanent rates with the client - $75.00ph + super (with pay reviews)
