Cabinet Making Foreman
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Cabinet Making Foreman to join our growing team. This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the factory and/or installation teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will be a natural leader with strong technical knowledge of cabinetry and joinery manufacturing processes, capable of managing people, production schedules, and project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate cabinet makers, apprentices, machinists, and installers.
- Manage daily production schedules and workflow to ensure project deadlines are achieved.
- Oversee the manufacture and installation of residential and commercial cabinetry and joinery projects.
- Read, interpret, and communicate technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Conduct quality control inspections throughout the manufacturing and installation process.
- Monitor labour, materials, and resources to maximise productivity and efficiency.
- Liaise with project managers, designers, suppliers, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
- Identify and resolve production issues, delays, and quality concerns.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with workforce planning, training, and mentoring of apprentices and junior staff.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop and on-site operations.
- Maintain a positive team culture focused on quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Skills & Experience
- Trade qualification in Cabinet Making, Joinery, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a Foreman, Leading Hand, or Supervisory role within the cabinetry industry.
- Strong understanding of cabinet manufacturing, assembly, and installation processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical and architectural drawings.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Experience managing multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
