Our client is an established and highly regarded residential construction business is looking to appoint a seasoned Senior Estimator / Estimating Manager to oversee its estimating operations and contribute to the ongoing success of the company.

This is an opportunity for a commercially astute professional who enjoys balancing technical accuracy with strategic thinking, while leading processes that directly influence project profitability and delivery.

The Opportunity

As the driving force behind the estimating department, the successful candidate will be responsible for producing reliable cost forecasts, refining estimating systems, and ensuring projects are priced competitively and accurately. They will collaborate closely with construction, operations, and procurement teams while building strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.

The role will also involve reviewing documentation, identifying cost efficiencies, supporting business decision-making, and providing leadership to the wider estimating function.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will bring significant experience from the residential construction sector and be confident managing complex estimating responsibilities from start to finish.

They will ideally have:

• 5+ years experience in a senior estimating position within residential construction.
• Strong working knowledge of Databuild and confidence using estimating software to produce accurate costings and reports.
• Experience interpreting plans, specifications, and construction documentation to develop detailed project estimates.
• A solid understanding of budgeting, procurement strategies, quantity take-offs, and cost planning.
• Proven ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve commercially sound outcomes.
• Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• A proactive mindset, excellent attention to detail, and the confidence to identify risks and opportunities before they impact delivery.
• Leadership capability, with experience mentoring team members and improving estimating processes.
• Relevant qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Estimating, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
