Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Drafting Manager to lead a residential drafting team and oversee the delivery of high quality construction documentation across a range of custom and project home builds.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing both design and production drafting functions, driving documentation accuracy, maintaining compliance standards, and improving drafting processes and systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage drafting teams to ensure the timely delivery of design, contract, permit and construction documentation
• Oversee documentation quality, accuracy, compliance and buildability across all projects
• Manage local and offshore drafting resources and workflows
• Develop, maintain and improve master drawing documentation, templates and drafting standards
• Drive consistency and efficiency through process improvement initiatives
• Manage permits and compliance team
• Support the implementation and ongoing development of 3D drafting systems, templates and asset libraries
• Train and mentor drafting staff to maintain technical excellence and industry compliance
• Work closely with internal stakeholders including Sales, Design, Construction and Operations teams
• Analyse construction feedback and implement improvements to documentation and detailing standards

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years' experience in residential drafting or design
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a drafting leadership or management role
• Strong understanding of residential construction and building compliance requirements
• High level proficiency with ArchiCAD
• Proven ability to manage teams, workflows and documentation standards
• Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Process-driven with a focus on quality, efficiency and continuous improvement
