Estimating Manager

Awesome opportunity for a Senior Commercial Joinery Estimator wanting to take the next step in Melbourne's West!

The Company:

My client is a premier commercial joinery manufacturing business delivering high-quality, design-led solutions for complex projects across office, health & education works.

They are seeking an Estimation Manager who will be responsible for the commercial integrity, consistency, and governance of all estimating and tendering activities. This is a management and leadership role focused on systems, people development, and margin protection.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and manage estimating methodologies, pricing rules, and margin targets.
• Develop and maintain relationships with senior client and estimation teams.
• Review and approve tenders prior to submission.
• Identify and escalate commercial and contractual risks.
• Lead post-tender reviews and drive continuous improvement.
• Prepare monthly win/loss dashboard reports.

About You:

• Proven track record in commercial joinery, shopfitting, or high-end architectural fit-outs, with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and material costs.
• Experience leading and mentoring a team of estimators, with a focus on building team capability, accountability, and professional growth.
• Sharp eye for identifying commercial and contractual risks within tender documents and the ability to develop effective mitigation or escalation strategies.
• Professional communication skills to build and maintain relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders, developers, and internal operations teams.
• A commitment to using and improving repeatable systems and reporting tools, including the preparation of win/loss dashboards and margin analysis.
• Proactive "ownership" mindset with the discipline to meet strict tender deadlines and ensure the accuracy of all submissions.
