OHS Officer

Join a leading Tier 2 builder as an OHS Officer! 50/50 office & site role. Bring energy, drive safety culture & make a real impact on major projects.

We're looking for a motivated and approachable OHS Officer to join a well-respected Melbourne-based commercial builder delivering projects from $30M up to $200M across a range of sectors.

About the Company

This is a long-established, family-oriented builder with a solid reputation for doing things the right way - quality builds, collaborative teams, and a genuine focus on safety. They work hard but keep things grounded, with a strong sense of pride in the projects they deliver.

The Role

You'll be based at head office but spend around half your time out on site, working alongside delivery teams to keep safety front of mind. It's a hands-on role where you'll help implement and improve the company's Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) systems and make sure everyone goes home safe at the end of the day.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support and maintain the company's HSEQ systems across multiple sites.

• Carry out site inspections and audits to make sure standards and legislation are met.

• Work closely with project teams to provide practical, no-nonsense safety advice.

• Help drive a positive safety culture through communication, coaching, and support.

• Get involved in incident reviews and help put solid corrective actions in place.

• Look for opportunities to improve how things are done - and speak up when you see a better way.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in an OHS role within commercial construction (2+ years ideally).

• Solid understanding of current OHS legislation and best practices.

• Someone with good energy - proactive, approachable, and confident working with different teams.

• Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in helping people work safely.

• Cert IV or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (or similar).

• Construction White Card.
