My client is a highly regarded, national demolition and civil contractor known for our technical expertise, commitment to safety, and successful project delivery across Australia. The Role:
Your primary focus will be on Upstream Contract Administration, managing the commercial and contractual relationship with our clients. Key responsibilities include:
-
Contract Review & Interpretation: Thoroughly reading, understanding, and communicating the obligations, entitlements, and risks associated with client contracts (e.g., AS, bespoke contracts).
-
Variations & Claims Management: Preparing, negotiating, and successfully processing Variations (EOTs and Cost claims), ensuring all entitlements are captured and submitted in a timely manner.
-
Progress Claims: Preparing and submitting detailed and accurate monthly client Progress Claims and managing payment schedules to ensure positive cash flow.
-
Contractual Correspondence: Drafting and managing high-quality, professional contractual correspondence, including notices and critical program updates.
-
Risk Mitigation: Proactively identifying commercial risks and opportunities within the contract and developing strategies to mitigate adverse impacts.
-
Stakeholder Liaison: Working closely with Project Managers, Estimators, and the Senior Commercial team to provide contractual guidance and support.
What You'll Bring:
-
Proven Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Contract Administrator, ideally within the demolition, civil, or general construction sectors.
-
Upstream Expertise is Key: Demonstrated, in-depth experience and proficiency in client-side (upstream) contract administration duties (Variations, EOTs, Claims, Progress Claims, Contract Interpretation).
-
Contract Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of standard form contracts (e.g., AS suite) and experience with large-scale, bespoke client agreements.
-
Commercial Acumen: Exceptional financial literacy and a sharp commercial focus with a drive to protect the company's contractual position and maximise returns.
-
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and persuasive contractual documents.
-
Travel: Willingness to travel interstate occasionally to support project kick-offs and commercial meetings.
