FIFO Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

Diesel Fitter role within the mining industry completing breakdowns & maintenance on UG drills, trucks & loaders. Great crew culture + job security.

• 7:7, 2:2 or 2:1 Roster, 12 Hr Shifts
• FIFO from Perth, Busselton and Geraldton

Duties and team:

You'll enjoy integrating into a well-connected team on site with a great culture. Reporting into the senior leading hand and maintenance foreman on crew you will be responsible for;

• Predominantly surface workshop based; opportunities to move into an underground breakdown role
• Assisting in the maintenance and repair of the underground mobile equipment including;
  • SANDVIK Trucks, loaders and drills
  • Normet Charge up machinery

The Mine Site:

The underground contractor has been on site for several years and there is no forecast of work slowing down with a healthy mine life forecast. You'll fly into the airstrip on site, which is roughly 2 hours from Perth. The site offers;

• Accommodation on site - Permanent En-suite rooms
• Excellent Dry Mess and well managed Wet Mess
• Gym and other sporting facilities
• A large well equipped surface workshop
• Charter or commercial flights available
• Limited daily travel with the camp and mine site only 3km apart

Contract and salary

Marble is partnered with this UG mining principal to supply long term permanent employees to the site. The opportunity exists to join the company on an initial contract through Marble and transition over to the clients' books after a short probation period.

• $70.00ph - $82.00ph + super (depending on skills and experience)
• Weekly pay cycles whilst working through Marble
• Super on all hours

Your skills and experience

You will be trade qualified in light vehicle or heavy vehicle with a minimum 1-2 years experience working civil, road transport or agricultural - whether that be light or heavy equivalent. Most importantly you will;-

• Have an eagerness to continue/learn the UG hard rock mining sector
• Have an excellent attitude towards work and developing new skills
• Be a team player and enjoy working with likeminded individuals
• Have the ability to work autonomously and a willingness to "have a go"
• Prioritises safety as number one
