Leading Hand Diesel Mechanic

Permanent role with a large open cut mining contractor. DIDO from Kalgoorlie on a 2:1 roster, leading a small team of fitters, paid for travel time.

• 2/1 roster - days and nights, paid for 13 hour days
• Work on a wide range of CAT mining equipment, on a large opencut mine
• Lead a small team of 3 fitters and still enjoy some time on the tools

The Project & Roster

Located in the Goldfields region this large open cut mine offers a great opportunity to train up and further your skills in the mining industry. With a large experienced team the site offers;-

• Excellent training and development, including OEM training
• Roster - 2 wees on 1 week off (days/ nights then 7 days off)
• DIDO to site each day and get paid for travel time
• Enjoy the comfort of being able to stay in your own bed each night

The Duties

Take the next step in your career and enjoy leading a small team whilst still being heavily tool based.

• Lead a team of 3 fitters planning jobs and reporting into the supervisor on site
• Enjoy spending 70% of your time based on the tools completing maintenance and breakdowns on machinery
• Working in a well-connected and experienced crew
• Machinery - CAT trucks, loaders, dozers, graders. CAT, Liebherr, Hitachi and Komatsu excavators

Your value

Coming from 5+ years of experience working within mining on heavy vehicles, civil plant or mining equipment will put you in a great position to start on this site. You will also have the following;-

• Trade qualifications in a mechanical competence
• Knowledgeable on hydraulic systems and low voltage electrical
• An excellent attitude towards work and safety values
• A team player and able to work autonomously
• Previous experience leading a team (desirable but not essential)
