Underground Communications Technician

Looking for experienced Underground Comms Techs for a UG Hardrock Site in North Queensland, $75 - $82ph + Super. FIFO Brisbane or Townsville.

• Contract directly to the mining principal of a 10 + year mine life site in N.QLD
• 8:6 - 7:7 roster with FIFO options from Brisbane and Townsville

The role

Reporting into the shift supervisor on site, you'll enjoy working within a team of experience UG mining trades professionals. You're duties will see you in a role that will involve:

• Installing and maintenance of underground communications reticulation
• Equipment audits and statutory checks

• Sandvik AutoMine installs and network configurations
• Working UG for the shift in hot and humid conditions

FIFO/ DIDO

Great opportunity to secure a role on an 8:6/ 7:7 roster (days and nights) from Brisbane or Townsville or alternately DIDO form Mount Isa or Cloncurry.

• Days - Tuesday morning flight to site, return home around 5pm on Tuesday (FIFO in company time)
• Nights - Tuesday evening start, fly home Tuesday morning (FIFO in your own time)
• Charter flight from Townsville to Cloncurry
• Commercial flight from Brisbane to Cloncurry
• Bus in bus out from the airport to site

The site

Located in North QLD at a 30-minute bus ride form Cloncurry the site offers newly renovated sporting facilities, a wet mess as well and ensuited and air-conditioned rooms. It also offers;

• A walking trail from the camp to the mine site
• 4G Telstra coverage
• A pool, basketball court and tennis court
• Regular social events on site

Your value

You will have come from a trade qualified background and have strong experience working in the mining sector or within heavy industry. UG mining experience is highly regarded however not essential. Your skills and attributes will include;-

• Minimum of 1-3+ recent years working in underground mining.

• Communications Trade Certificate or QLD Electrical Licence.
• Extensive experience in two-way radio leaky feeder systems.
• High level communications equipment installation standards
• Sandvik AutoMine experience
• Excellent attitude towards work and safety
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
• High attention to detail and a passion for delivering quality results
