Altona North is set to see Mirvac’s largest townhouse projects in early 2019, with 400 townhouses and apartments built around a central neighbourhood park on Blackshaws Road.
The 11.5-hectare industrial site was rezoned by the state government last month for medium-density residential development.
The development will provide a range of housing options within close proximity to Melbourne’s CBD, along with access to public transport and the lifestyle amenity of Port Phillip Bay.
Mirvac announced the acquisition of four residential development projects in 2014, with a combined purchase of $144.2 million across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane which included Blackshaws Road, Altona North.
The developer currently has $4.1 billon in the pipeline for residential projects in Victoria.
