We're looking for an experienced Plumbing Service Manager who knows the plumbing and hydraulic services industry, enjoys building strong client relationships and is ready to take ownership of a service portfolio.
About the company
Our client is an established hydraulic services company delivering plumbing, hydraulic and maintenance services to commercial property managers, health services, builders and facility managers across South East Queensland.
With a strong base of repeat clients and ongoing maintenance work, the service division is continuing to grow. This is an opportunity to join an established group while playing an important role in the continued development of its service business.
About the role
As Plumbing Service Manager, you'll be the go-to person for your portfolio of service clients. You'll work closely with the administration team to coordinate technicians, manage service schedules and ensure jobs are quoted, costed and invoiced accurately.
You'll combine your technical plumbing knowledge with strong commercial and relationship-management skills to keep clients supported, technicians productive and jobs running to agreed budgets and schedules.
The role is approximately 70% office-based and 30% site-based, giving you the opportunity to manage your portfolio while regularly checking workmanship, meeting prospective clients and maintaining existing relationships.
Key responsibilities
-
Manage and coordinate service schedules across your client portfolio.
-
Prepare quotes, material and parts orders, and monitor job progress.
-
Manage job costing and invoicing against budgets and agreed schedules of rates.
-
Act as the primary point of contact for clients and their suppliers.
-
Provide technical support to technicians working across your clients' jobs.
-
Assist with asset reporting and manage client assets and stock consumables.
-
Conduct site QA and safety inspections and ensure technicians meet company and legislative requirements.
-
Maintain and grow existing client relationships and develop new business opportunities.
-
Contribute to continuous improvement across the service division.
What you'll bring
You'll be a licensed plumber with previous experience managing service clients for a plumbing company. You'll understand the technical side of the work while also being confident managing clients, coordinating teams and juggling multiple priorities.
You'll bring:
-
Previous experience managing service clients in a similar plumbing industry role.
-
A current QBCC Plumbers Licence.
-
Strong trade knowledge and the ability to diagnose faults and support technicians.
-
Excellent organisation and multitasking skills.
-
Clear verbal and written communication skills.
-
Confidence dealing with clients and explaining technical issues.
-
Experience with job management and scheduling systems such as Simpro is strongly preferred.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
-
A current Queensland driver licence.
What's on offer
-
Competitive remuneration package.
-
Fully maintained company vehicle and fuel card.
-
Superannuation, paid sick leave and annual leave.
-
Supportive team environment with regular social activities and staff functions.
-
The opportunity to build and grow your own client portfolio within an established and expanding group.
If you're an experienced plumbing professional who enjoys client relationships, service management and taking ownership, this is an excellent opportunity to step into a key role within a growing hydraulic services business.
