Underground Mining Electrician

North QLD underground hard rock operation, 8:6/7:7 FIFO ex-Bris/Townsville, quality camp, modern fleet, tight crew, genuine long-term growth pathway.

You'll work within a close-knit crew of around 8 electricians, get hands-on with a modern fleet of Sandvik, Normet and Komatsu equipment, and have genuine potential to move onto the principal's own books as roles become available. Industrial electrician experience is the baseline requirement for this role - mining experience is desired but not essential!

About the Role

You'll be working 100% underground, covering a broad scope of electrical work including:

• 1000V reticulation and terminations
• Production drill rig servicing and breakdowns
• Maintenance and installation of pumps, fans and vents
• Relocation and installation of jumbo boxes and pump starters
• Leaky feeder communication system installs and maintenance
• AutoMine installs and networking
• Testing, tagging, statutory checks and audits

For those ticketed, there's also scope for 11kV reticulation, substation maintenance and HV switching work.

About You

Essential -

• Trade qualified Electrician
• Current driver's licence (manual experience required for site LVs)
• Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
• Ability to fault-find and problem-solve autonomously
• Mining OR industrial experience
• Can-do attitude and willingness to learn

Advantageous -

• AutoMine experience
• Underground hard rock mining equipment knowledge
• Drill servicing and breakdown experience
• HV switching tickets

Personal Qualities

• Ability to work well under pressure, in a team and autonomously
• Proven teamwork and ability to get on well with others
• Excellent attitude toward work, safety as a number one priority
• Reliable, punctual, and physically fit for 12-hour shifts
