THE ROLE & WHY APPLY

Here's your chance to be part of a brand-new underground project coming to life on New Zealand's West Coast, this site are looking for underground Heavy Diesel Fitters & Leading Hands to join its growing crew. Here's what's on offer:

• Roster: 2:2 - 7 days, 7 nights, 14 off (12-hour shifts)
• FIFO from major east coast airports, including Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns, to NZ
• Quality accommodation with a private room, ensuite and all meals included
• Move across to the contractor's books after 6 months and join a company with operations internationally
• Work on a steady 5-year project with around 20 pieces of brand-new machinery
• Rates: HD Fitters $80-$85/hr + super | Leading Hands $85-$90/hr + super

THE PROJECT & COMPANY

This isn't just another mine site. You'll join a major mining contractor with projects internationally and be part of a historic NZ gold mine with a unique story.

• First discovered in 1905 and mined for 45 years, this site is now being redeveloped through a modern twin decline, with first gold production scheduled for December 2026
• A five-year contract, with the workforce growing to approximately 280 people at peak
• This is a well-known hard rock contractor who has projects across Australia and internationally
• The site will include anything from production, development etc so plenty of exposure

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

You'll join a tight crew of auto electricians, HD fitters, LV mechanics and boilermakers, keeping a brand-new underground fleet running:

• Workshop servicing, plus scheduled and preventative maintenance
• Underground field breakdowns, fault finding and diagnostics
• Drill rig servicing, general repairs and problem solving in a role with real impact on daily operations
• Working on brand-new Sandvik gear, with no tired old machines here: DD422i development drills, DS422i cable bolters, TH551 underground trucks, and LH517i, LH307 and LH203 loaders

TRAVEL, ACCOMMODATION & CAREER PROGRESSION

Flights run from major east coast airports to Christchurch, and you'll be well looked after from day one.

• A shuttle takes you to accom on the West Coast, with a daily shuttle to and from site
• Private room and ensuite in a local hotel, with breakfast and dinner provided daily and crib for site
• A brand-new, purpose-built mine camp is due in 2027, just 20 minutes from site
• Start as a casual, full-time contractor through Marble, then move to the contractor's books after 6 months with leave entitlements
• From there, there are opportunities to extend your contract or move to Australian sites
• Keen to relocate to NZ? Immediate permanent positions are available for locals and relocators

YOUR BACKGROUND

This is a genuine long-term opportunity, not just a short-term contract. To be considered, you'll need:

• A heavy diesel fitter trade qualification, with underground mining experience
• The ability to work autonomously in the field on UG mining equipment
• A current unrestricted driver's licence, pass a pre-employment medical and NPC
• A can-do attitude and a willingness to learn
• Bonus: Sandvik experience (especially drills) or Sandvik OEM training
