Looking to get your foot in the door with underground mining?

We're recruiting Agi Operators to join a leading underground mining contractor at Renison Bell Mine in northwest Tasmania.

This is a great opportunity for candidates from heavy industry backgrounds, particularly quarrying, concreting, civil construction or machinery operations, who are looking to transfer their skills into the mining industry.

No previous underground mining experience is required! You'll receive full training, coaching and mentoring from experienced operators and supervisors, with the opportunity to build a long-term career in mining.

The role

Working as part of a small underground operations team, you'll be responsible for transporting shotcrete product from the surface batch plant to underground working areas.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Operating underground agitator trucks to transport shotcrete product
• Delivering concrete to underground spraying crews
• Working closely with Shotcrete Sprayers, Cable Bolter Operators and supervisors
• Completing pre-start inspections and basic equipment checks
• Following underground traffic management and safety procedures
• Working towards daily production targets and KPIs
• Assisting with general underground duties where required

What we're looking for

We're particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have experience in:

• Quarrying, concreting or civil construction
• Concrete truck or agitator truck driving
• Heavy vehicle or truck driving
• Mobile plant and machinery operations
• Other heavy industrial or production environments

To be considered, you'll need:

• Current driver's licence and experience driving manual vehicles
• Strong commitment to workplace safety
• Willingness to learn and undertake training
• Ability to work a 7:7 roster, including day and night shifts
• Reliability, a positive attitude and the ability to work within a small team
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening and police clearance

Previous mining experience is advantageous but certainly not essential. We're looking for reliable, safety-focused people with the right attitude who are keen to develop a career underground.

About the opportunity

You'll initially start employment through Marble on a casual contract, with the opportunity to transition into permanent employment directly with the contractor, subject to performance and suitability.
