Heavy Diesel Mechanic – Field Service

Service & maintain a modern underground drill fleet across workshop and field for a leading global OEM. Experienced drill fitters encouraged to apply.

• Take-home Field Service Ute
• Initial 3-month contract with pathway to a permanent position
• Weekly pay plus field, night & weekend allowances

About the Role

Reporting to the Service Manager, you'll join a small team with work split across field and workshop, working on a modern underground drill fleet throughout Tasmania's Northwest and West coast. You'll get exposure to both workshop servicing and on-site field work at customer mines, giving you genuine variety day to day. It's a great opportunity to build strong relationships with a supportive team while working across a range of well-known and highly regarded hard rock mining equipment.

Duties

• Rostered maintenance and scheduled servicing
• Breakdowns, fault finding and component change-outs
• Machine rebuilds and warranty inspections
• New machine commissioning and equipment auditing
• Field and workshop-based repairs on underground hard rock mining equipment
• Site based visits to various customer sites across Tasmania

Skills & Experience

• Trade-qualified Diesel Fitter
• Experience on underground drill fleets
• Strong mechanical & hydraulic fault-finding skills
• Current driver's licence
• Strong safety focus and attention to detail
