The Site and FIFO
The role is based at a large underground hard rock operation in regional South Australia.
Site and roster highlights include:
- 2:2 roster - 7 days, 7 nights, followed by 14 days off
- 12-hour shifts
- FIFO flights paid from major capital cities
- High-quality camp facilities with ensuite rooms
- Onsite gym, pool and wet mess
- Telstra and Optus coverage
The Role
As an Underground Heavy Diesel Fitter, you'll join the mobile maintenance team supporting a brand-new underground fleet.
The fleet includes:
- Agitator trucks
- Underground shotcrete rigs
- Cable bolters
- Jumbo drills
- Underground loaders
- Integrated tool carriers
- Light vehicles
Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Servicing and repairing underground mobile and fixed plant
- Completing scheduled and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing faults and replacing components
- Mechanical, hydraulic and basic auto-electrical fault finding
- Attending breakdowns across the underground operation
- Identifying and managing maintenance risks
- Ensuring all work meets site safety and quality standards
Your Value
You will hold an Australian-recognised heavy diesel, mobile plant or heavy vehicle trade qualification and have proven experience maintaining underground hard rock equipment.
To be considered, you must have:
- Experience working on underground shotcrete rigs and/or agitator trucks
- Current or recent underground hard rock mining experience
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Mechanical, hydraulic and basic auto-electrical knowledge
- A valid manual Australian driver's licence
- A positive attitude and strong commitment to safety
- Ability to complete a National Police Check and pre-employment medical
