The Builder

Our client is a highly regarded award-winning home builder specialising in beautifully designed homes. This builder focuses on quality, detail, and client experience rather than volume.

They are known for their hands-on, collaborative approach, working closely with clients throughout the build journey and managing high levels of design detail and variations. Their systems are well established, utilising Databuild to keep projects organised, transparent, and moving efficiently.

Just as importantly, this is a builder with a reputation for being good people to work with, supportive leadership, clear processes, and a culture that genuinely values its team.

The Role

This role is well suited to an estimator who enjoys working on challenging homes, has strong construction knowledge, and is comfortable dealing directly with clients and consultants. This role is for a senior estimator with proven expereince in the QLD residential field.

Key responsibilities include:

• Producing detailed Bills of Quantities for custom and architectural homes
• Preparing estimates for bespoke designs and design changes
• Managing and pricing high-frequency variations with quick turnaround times
• Working directly with clients to explain pricing, options and changes
• Sourcing competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
• Negotiating and maintaining supplier and trade pricing agreements
• Producing and maintaining master bills and cost plans
• Producing and issuing purchase orders
• Managing hardware and fit-off ordering
• Maintaining accurate cost tracking throughout construction
• Using Databuild to manage estimates, variations and workflows

What you need

This role would strongly suit someone with a trade or on-the-tools background who has transitioned into estimating and understands the build process end-to-end.

You'll ideally bring:

• 3+ years' experience in residential estimating
• A trade background or hands-on construction experience
• Strong understanding of residential construction sequencing and methodology
• Confidence communicating with clients and internal stakeholders
• Experience with BuildXact (preferred) or similar estimating software
• High attention to detail and cost accuracy
• Strong organisation and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple builds and deadlines in a busy environment
