Mechanical Estimator - Major Projects
Location: Melbourne, VIC
Industry: Tier 1 Mechanical / HVAC Contractor
Employment Type: Full-Time
A leading Tier 1 mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their Major Projects division in Melbourne.
With over 40 years delivering large-scale HVAC and building services packages across major commercial developments including complex data centres this contractor has built a strong reputation for quality delivery, in-house capability, and long-term client partnerships.
Working within the Major Mechanical team, you will be responsible for pricing large-scale mechanical tenders in collaboration with the central bidding office.
You'll be part of a close-knit estimating team, focusing on substantial HVAC and pipework packages across high-value commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for major mechanical/HVAC tenders
Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
Apply current market knowledge to ensure competitive and accurate pricing
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in mechanical/HVAC (estimator or strong project background)
Strong understanding of current market pricing
Experience using Bluebeam and spreadsheet-based estimating systems
Comfortable working on large-scale tenders
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
