Heavy Diesel Mechanic

Heavy Diesel Mechanic role with 75% onsite work, take-home ute, monthly RDOs, weekday hours and long-term stability.

The role

You'll be working across customer sites and the Kilmore workshop, carrying out servicing, diagnostics and repairs on a varied fleet of machinery and trucks.

Key duties include:

• Servicing and preventative maintenance

• Diagnostics and fault-finding across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems

• Repairing oil leaks, breakdowns, wear and tear and damaged components

• Technical problem-solving using hydraulics and computer-based diagnostics

• Workshop repairs in Kilmore and onsite work across customer locations

The role is predominantly field-based, with workshop support as required.

Machinery & equipment

Exposure to a broad range of equipment including:

• Civil machinery - excavators, loaders, dozers, dump trucks and rollers

• Scrap metal processing equipment including crushers

• Medium-sized site trucks and road vehicles

• Materials handling equipment such as forklifts

Sites & travel

• Approx. 75% onsite / 25% workshop-based

• Work across civil earthmoving, housing, industrial projects and recycling yards

• Servicing sites across Dandenong, Werribee, Bacchus Marsh and surrounding areas

Roster & hours

• Monday to Friday

• 7:00am - 3:30pm

• 1 RDO per month

• Occasional weekend overtime available

Rates & employment pathway

Temp to Perm Structure

Initial contract (first 6 months):

• Up to $61.60ph + super

• Rate dependent on skills and experience

Permanent employment:

• Up to $55.00ph + super

• Annual leave and carers leave included

• Final rate dependent on experience

What we're looking for

Essential:

• Cert III in Heavy Diesel / Mobile Plant (or equivalent)

• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability

• Experience across mechanical and hydraulic systems

• Motivated, willing to learn and open to varied equipment

• Able to work well in a small, mixed-age team

• Driver's licence and White Card

Desirable:

• Field service experience
