An opportunity for a highly skilled civil estimator to join a growing team, working exciting projects and projecting for future project wins.

About the Role:

Join a well-established specialist in Civil Utility Infrastructure, serving clients across the eastern coast. With ongoing growth and success due to a dedicated team and recent project wins, the company is expanding to take on several high-impact projects in the coming years.

The Opportunity:

To support our growing project portfolio, we are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team based Sydney. The ideal candidate will bring solid MS Excel skills and a collaborative mindset, paired with excellent organisational and communication abilities. Strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to meet tight deadlines are essential. Experience with first-principle estimating is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review contract documents and specifications during the tendering phase.

  • Develop accurate lump sum pricing and bills of quantities for various civil, utility, and infrastructure projects, using first-principle estimates and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Collaborate with the construction team to ensure safe and effective construction methodologies and project programs.

  • Manage multiple tenders simultaneously, ranging from $1 million to $50 million.

  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing, and assist in negotiating terms and conditions.

  • Oversee the pre-construction phase and monitor project progress.

Skills and Experience:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or Engineering.

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in the Australian market.

  • Proven experience working on projects for government clients and agencies.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Exceptional organisational and time-management skills.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with colleagues and clients.

  • Ability to work autonomously while meeting deadlines.

  • Advanced MS Excel skills for tender-specific calculations and document creation.

  • Experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 projects will be viewed favourably.
