The project

The black coal mine itself is situated in the Bowen Basin in central QLD. The mine boasts a rich supply of coal and has been up and running since 1864. You will enjoy:

• 7:7 - DAYS AND NIGHTS - 12-hour shifts
• Family friendly, even time roster
• Long-term, full-time employment
• Permanent employee from day 1

The duties

Starting off in the workshop, the first few swings will put your skills to the test and where capable you will be utilised in and all-round role in the workshop and field.

• 50% / 50% workshop and field
• Working in a well-connected and experienced crew with 4 other heavy diesel fitters
• Reporting to the leading hand
• Working on a wide range of heavy earth moving gear of varying brands and models, you'll work with CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi and Liebherr machinery.

DIDO / FIFO

With site only a 1.5-hour drive from Mackay, you'll enjoy:

DIDO

• Travel paid for any journey within a 6-hour radius of site.
• Travel paid to and from site
• Fuel reimbursement
• Drive on day -1 and 8

FIFO

• Flights from Brisbane or Townsville
• Drive from airport to site with a shared work Ute

Your value

You must come from a mining / civil background and have recent experience working on heavy earth moving gear. The successful candidate will have:

• Trade qualified in a mechanical competence
• 2-3+ years post trade working on heavy earthmoving machinery (mining equipment is highly regarded)
• Strong knowledge of CAT mining equipment (highly regarded)
• Ability to work in an autonomous role in the field attending to breakdowns on mining equipment (highly regarded)
• An excellent attitude towards work and safety - Reliable and dedicated to the position.
