We're recruiting experienced Underground Cable Bolt Operators to join a leading underground mining contractor at Renison Bell Mine on Tasmania's West Coast.

This is a great opportunity for operators with underground cable bolting experience who are looking for a long-term position on a lifestyle-friendly 7:7 roster, operating Sandvik DS421 cable bolters.

The mine is located on Tasmania's West Coast, with approximate driving distances of:

• Devonport - 2.5-3 hours
• Launceston - 3.5-4 hours
• Hobart - 4.5-5 hours

With camp accommodation and meals provided throughout your swing, this is a great opportunity for Tasmania-based operators looking for a consistent roster without needing to relocate.

What's on offer?

• Approximately $78.00ph casual + super through Marble (depending on experience)
• 7:7 even-time roster - rotating days and nights
• 12-hour shifts, Thursday to Wednesday
• Camp accommodation and meals provided throughout your swing
• Operating Sandvik DS421 cable bolters
• One dedicated Cable Bolt Operator per shift
• Temp-to-perm opportunity, with the potential to transition into permanent employment after 26 paid weeks
• Long-term career opportunities with an established underground mining contractor

The role

Working as part of the underground operations team, you'll be responsible for operating Sandvik DS421 cable bolters to support underground ground support and development activities.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Operating Sandvik DS421 cable bolters at an underground hard-rock mine
• Installing cable bolts in accordance with ground support plans and site requirements
• Completing pre-start inspections and basic equipment checks
• Identifying and reporting equipment faults or maintenance requirements
• Working closely with underground supervisors and production crews
• Following site safety procedures and ground control requirements
• Working towards daily production targets while maintaining safe operating standards

What we're looking for

We're particularly interested in speaking with experienced underground operators who have:

• Previous experience operating underground cable bolting equipment
• Experience operating Sandvik DS421 cable bolters, highly regarded
• A strong understanding of underground ground support procedures
• Previous experience working in underground hard-rock mining
• Strong commitment to workplace safety
• Ability to work independently as the sole Cable Bolt Operator on shift
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening and police clearance

About the opportunity

You'll initially start employment through Marble on a casual contract, with the opportunity to transition into permanent employment directly with the contractor after approximately six months, subject to performance and suitability.
