About the company:

I am recruiting on behalf of an established joinery manufacturer delivering quality custom joinery to commercial and residential clients. Their reputation rests on craftsmanship, reliable delivery and long-term relationships with T1 and T2 builders, designers, and developers. They are a tight-knit team with strong and experienced leaders who value good workmanship and back those who want to grow.

The role:

This is a great career step for a tradesperson who knows how joinery is built and wants to use that knowledge in the office. You'll join the estimating team and learn the full tendering process, with training and mentoring from experienced estimators.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing architectural drawings, specifications and schedules
• Taking off materials, hardware and labour requirements for joinery packages
• Preparing accurate quotes and tender submissions
• Sourcing and comparing supplier pricing
• Liaising with clients, builders and suppliers to clarify scope and pricing
• Working with the workshop and project teams to ensure estimates reflect real-world build methods
• Assisting with variations, revisions and follow-ups on submitted tenders

About you:

• Trade qualified in cabinet making, shopfitting or joinery (essential)
• Strong understanding of joinery construction, materials and workshop processes
• A foundation in estimating is preferred, but not essential, as full training can be provided
• Excellent attention to detail and comfortable working with numbers
• Able to read and interpret architectural drawings
• Clear communicator who works well in a team and under deadlines
