Commercial Joinery Project Manager

A fully autonomous Project Manager position delivering luxury commercial joinery across major T1 & T2 Sites in Canberra.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Project Manager to join a well-established and highly regarded business specialising in premium commercial furniture, bespoke joinery and interior fit-out projects.

With decades of experience delivering projects across Australia, the business has built a strong reputation for quality, innovation and delivering high-end commercial environments. Due to continued project activity, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Canberra team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Director, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects from initial planning through to successful completion. You will work closely with clients, internal teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget.

This is a senior position suited to someone who is commercially minded, highly organised and confident managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple commercial projects from initiation through to completion and handover
• Develop project plans, timelines, budgets and delivery strategies
• Work closely with Sales, Production and other internal teams to ensure project objectives are achieved
• Manage project scope, costs, variations, and timelines whilst proactively identifying and managind risk
• Ensure projects are delivered to required quality standards, within budget and on schedule
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
• Monitor project resources and allocate appropriately to maximise efficiency
• Prepare project updates, reports and escalate risks or issues where required
• Maintain accurate project documentation and records
• Work within project management and construction systems, including platforms such as Procore and Aconex
• Liaise with accounts and internal stakeholders regarding project costing, billing and financial requirements
• Ensure compliance with company processes, procedures and project controls

About You

You will be an experienced Project Manager with a background in commercial joinery. You will be confident taking ownership of projects and working with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

We're looking for someone who demonstrates:

• Proven experience managing commercial joinery projects, or a related industry
• Strong commercial and financial management skills
• Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
• The ability to work full autonomously and demonstrate strong initiative
• Confidence in managing multiple projects and competing deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and project resources
• Strong client and stakeholder management skills
• A practical, solutions-focused approach
• Strong Microsoft Office and systems/database experience
• A current Australian Driver's Licence

A relevant qualification in Project Management, Business, Construction or a related discipline will be highly regarded. PMP, PRINCE2 or similar project management accreditation is also advantageous.
