Factory Leading Hand

Hands-on Leading Hand wanted for a Joinery factory in the Northside. Casual full-time with the view to go permanent full-time.

• Hands-on role leading a team of six
• Well respected Shopfitter with long-term projects in place
• Trial period with an aim of permanency

We're looking for an experienced Leading Hand to join a shopfitting factory on Brisbane's Northside.

This is a hands-on position combining factory work with team coordination. You'll work on the tools while supporting and coordinating a team of approximately 5-10 factory staff.

Responsibilities

• Organise the daily factory workload.
• Coordinate and support a team of approximately six staff.
• Keep jobs progressing efficiently and meet production requirements.
• Read drawings and assist with joinery manufacturing and assembly.
• Use standard woodworking machinery and tools confidently.
• Maintain quality standards and attention to detail.
• Support the team to complete work safely and efficiently.

Requirements

• Trade qualified as a shopfitter or cabinetmaker.
• Previous shopfitting experience is essential.
• Previous leading hand or factory supervisory experience is preferred.
• Ability to read drawings and manufacture and assemble joinery.
• Confident use of standard woodworking machinery and tools.
• Reliable, organised and able to lead a team while working hands-on.
• Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail.
• Based on Brisbane's Northside.
• Full Australian working rights.
• Seeking a long-term, permanent position.

Qualified shopfitters and cabinetmakers who may be suitable for the factory team will also be considered.
