Duties of the role
Working as part of the Technical Services team, you'll play a key role in supporting the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the site's underground ventilation systems:

• Monitor, audit and optimise underground ventilation controls and systems, ensuring air quality, airflow and environmental conditions meet statutory and site standards
• Conduct regular airflow measurements, gas monitoring and inspections across underground working areas
• Identify ventilation risks - gas, heat, dust, and airflow constraints - and implement practical mitigation strategies
• Assist with the installation, maintenance and auditing of ventilation control devices (doors, stoppings, regulators, fans, ducting)
• Work closely with operations, planning and engineering teams to support mine ventilation planning as the mine develops
• Maintain accurate ventilation records and reporting in line with statutory compliance requirements

Your value and experience

• Formal Ventilation Officer statutory ticket/licence is essential - the principal is unable to employ anyone without this qualification, no exceptions
• Experience working on UG hard rock mining ventilation systems
• Strong understanding of airflow dynamics, gas monitoring and environmental safety regulations
• Ability to work well in a team and unsupervised
• Strong safety values
