Industry
Infrastructure & Mining
Salary/Rate
AU$80 - AU$85 per hour
Want a good rate, roster and a crew that actually know what they're doing. If that sounds better than what your doing then read on.
- Worklife balance roster with a charter FIFO on an 8:6 roster
- Stay close to home with a FIFO role in QLD
- Long term job security + plenty of day to day variety
Why This One's Worth A Look
- 8:6 roster, days and nights - built for an actual lifestyle, not just a paycheck
- Charter FIFO from Brisbane or Sunshine Coast, or DIDO if you're local, all travel paid
- Full camp with meals, accommodation and amenities sorted, you just show up
- A tight crew of experienced tradies who take pride in the work, not just clocking hours
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Split your time between the workshop and a rotating stint underground:
- Servicing, preventative and scheduled maintenance, component changeouts and plenty more in the maintenance workshop on the surface
- Fault finding and breakdown response across a wide equipment range
- One week in six as the dedicated underground breakdown fitter, rotating through the crew
- Hands-on with Sandvik boggers, drills, trucks and more
Camp & Travel
Set up close to both the mine and the airstrip, so you're not wasting hours getting to and from site:
- Single rooms with en-suites, comfortable and well looked after
- Gym, wet mess, BBQ area and fatigues rooms on site
- Themed meal nights and food that's actually good
- Wi-Fi on site
- Thursday to Thursday roster, charter flights or local DIDO, all travel covered
The Operation
An owner-operator mine in QLD, run by people who've been doing this a long time and do it properly:
- Direct, well-run team with long-standing site knowledge
- Culture built on doing the job right, not cutting corners
- Safety and quality backed up in practice, not just on paper
- Room to upskill across a broad mix of underground and surface gear
What You Need
- Diesel trade qualification, no exceptions
- Experience with underground hard rock mining equipment - Sandvik / Normet is a bonus
- Solid diagnostics and breakdown response skills
- Adaptable and ready to get stuck into whatever the shift throws at you
- A safety-first mindset and the reliability to show up every swing
- Willing to complete a national police check and pre-employment medical
