Tired of FIFO but still want to work on proper underground gear?
This purpose-built Neerabup workshop specialises in Sandvik underground drill rebuilds, delivering OEM-standard strip, assess and rebuild work for Tier 1 WA clients.
You'll be joining a young, driven crew in a positive, supportive work environment, backed by experienced trades and proper leadership - no egos, no drama, just a crew that looks after each other.
You'll be working in a clean, organised rebuild facility with the right tooling, systems, and support - not a backyard setup.
The opportunity & why apply?
Lock in a long-term workshop role close to home, working on world-class underground drill rigs with the right tooling, processes and support.
- $65.00ph - $75.00ph + super
- Roster Flexability: 7:7 or 5:2 - Days only
- Stable, ongoing role with guaranteed hours
- Home every night - no airports, no nights, no swings
- Exclusive focus on Sandvik underground drills (DD, DL & DS series)
- Clean, organised workshop with OEM tooling & structured rebuild bays
- Supportive team culture with progression pathways into Leading Hand roles
The Role:
Your work will centre on rebuilding, repairing and testing underground drill rigs and drill components.
- Strip, assess and rebuild full Sandvik drill rigs (DD / DL / DS series)
- Complete component work: booms, feeds, drifters, rod changers, cylinders, cradles, rotation units
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and carry out preventative maintenance
- Follow OEM specifications to ensure high-quality, compliant rebuilds
- Work within a tight-knit crew committed to high standards and safety
What You'll Need:
- Australian-recognised Heavy Diesel / Mobile Plant trade certificate
- Experience with underground mobile equipment (Sandvik, CAT, Epiroc, etc.)
- Solid mechanical diagnostics and rebuild experience
- Safety-first mindset and proactive attitude
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical & D&A screening
Why make the move away from FIFO?
You'll still be working on the same high-end underground equipment found on WA's top sites - just without the flights, night shifts, long swings, or time away from home.
Instead, you'll be home every night, have a proper routine, and still build serious technical experience on Sandvik drills.
Join a specialist rebuild workshop, learn from industry veterans, and set yourself up for long-term career progression north of the river.
