The mine site

Operating in central west NSW, this large-scale underground hard-rock mine is a mature operation with a strong safety culture and a consistent demand for skilled trades and operators. You will enjoy:

• 8:6 roster (day shift only) working 12 hour days
• A well-connected team culture, that believes in support and training
• DIDO from anywhere in NSW with DIDO allowances provided
• Travel allowance, meals and accommodation provided
• Hotel / motel style accommodation provided with buffet meals.

The role

Reporting directly to the maintenance supervisor on your crew you will enjoy working in a varied role where you'll develop a broad range of skill in both the workshop and in the field. Working in a close-knit team you will be involved with:

• Workshop - servicing, preventative and scheduled maintenance, fault finding and diagnostics and major component change outs
• Field - breakdowns, fault finding, and diagnostics
• Working on a fleet of fleet of agi trucks, shaft lining units and light vehicles.

Your skills and experience

Ideally, you will come from a background working as an UG heavy diesel mechanic working on the duties listed above. However, applications are also open for diesel mechanics with experience on working on agi trucks and other mobile plant machinery. You will have:

• Trade qualification (Heavy mechanical cert III)
• 12+ months underground hardrock mining experience (highly advantageous)
• An excellent attitude towards work and desire to work in an UG hard rock mine
• Ability to work on machinery in the field and workshop
• Ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment
• Driver's license

Contract and salary

Marble is partnered with this UG mining contractor l to supply long term employees to the site. The opportunity exists to join the company on an initial 6-month contract through Marble and transition over to the clients' books after a short probation period (depending on performance and availability).

• Up to $80.00ph + super (depending on skills and experience)
• Weekly pay cycles whilst working through Marble
