Our client, a leading civil contractor, who is experiencing rapid expansion and seeks a dynamic Senior Esitmator to spearhead their estimating department. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a company on the cusp of significant growth and make a substantial impact.

About the Role:

As the Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the estimating function, from bid development to contract award. You will lead and mentor a team of estimators, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of competitive bids across a diverse portfolio of major infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a high-performing estimating team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture.
• Develop and implement efficient estimating processes and systems to enhance productivity and accuracy.
• Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids, including quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and risk assessment.
• Collaborate closely with operations, project management, and engineering teams to gather essential project information.
• Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate optimal pricing to maximise project profitability.
• Maintain a strong focus on quality and accuracy in all estimating deliverables.
• Identify and implement cost-saving measures and process improvements.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the estimating team, fostering professional development and growth.

Skills and Experience:

• Proven track record in civil construction estimating, with a minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced proficiency in estimating software and tools.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
