About the Company
My client is a leading residential builder known for delivering innovative, high-quality medium-density housing projects across Melbourne. With a strong pipeline of developments and a focus on sustainable urban growth, they are now seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Production Estimator to join their dynamic team.
About the Role
As a Production Estimator, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and efficient costing of medium-density residential projects. You will work closely with the design, drafting, and construction teams to prepare detailed estimates, BOQs, and production documentation to support our growing portfolio of townhouse and multi-unit developments.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain accurate BOQs, production estimates, and cost breakdowns for medium-density projects
Interpret and review construction drawings, engineering reports, and specifications
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and scope clarifications
Identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure competitive pricing
Maintain estimating databases and systems to ensure up-to-date pricing and documentation
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (design, drafting, construction, and procurement) to streamline workflows and resolve queries
Assist in cost analysis, value engineering, and feasibility assessments
Skills & Experience Required:
Minimum 3 years' experience in residential construction estimating, preferably in medium-density housing
Strong understanding of the residential construction process and estimating best practices
Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Databuild, Buildsoft, or similar)
Solid knowledge of Australian building codes, standards, and materials
High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
Strong communication and time management abilities
Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or similar
