The Project

Located in the Goldfields region of WA, this mining operation encompasses two underground mine sites, with one being operational and the other under development. You will enjoy working alongside a team of 4 Geotech's towards long term success at a mine site that offers the following;

• Minimum 10+ years LOM with long-term growth prospects
• Challenging ground conditions
• 30-minute drive from site to camp
• 4G Telstra coverage

FIFO and Roster

This opportunity offers FIFO from Perth on an 8:6, Tuesday to Tuesday roster.

• Chartered flight from Perth direct to site (100% in company time)
• 30-minute drive from the airstrip to camp
• Arrive on site on day 1 around 9am
• Fly into Perth around 4:30pm on day 8

You will enjoy staying in their purpose-built, well equipped mining camp which offers their FIFO workforce an ensuite room along with the following benefits;

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will enjoy working in a close-knit team of experienced underground mining professionals. Your duties will include;-

• Geotechnical mapping, core logging and training of Mine Geologists in geotechnical data collection, standards and database management
• Monitor and track progress of geotechnical mapping to ensure timely recording of geotechnical information
• Undertake geotechnical stability assessments and compile brief technical reports
• Assist in the review, development and implementation of ground support systems and relevant site procedures
• Support the Geotechnical Principal in carrying out geotechnical investigations, analysis and information gathering as required

Your Value

• Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering or Geology
• Demonstrate at least two years relevant experience
• Experience using Deswik and Rocscience software
• Experience and/or knowledge of geomechanics principles
• Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written
• Work both autonomously and within a team environment
