About the Company

Our client is a custom home builder specialising in knock down re-builds across the North Shore and Northern Beaches. Operating for over 10 + years, they are increasingly becoming one of the most reputable builders in the custom building space, building between 50-60 homes a year with average contract values between $1.5M - $3M.

Each home is architecturally designed with a range of Contemporary, Modern and Hampton style designs on offer. Due to growth, this builder is looking to expand their estimating team and is seeking a highly knowledgeable Estimator to join their long-standing team.

About the Role

Working out of a newly refurbished office space, you will work closely with Estimating Manager and the wider estimating team, designers, and construction support team across a portfolio of architecturally designed homes.

This role is extremely technical and we seeking a highly experienced estimator with knowledge across both sales and production duties.

Day to day duties will include:

• Provide accurate pricing for contracts and variations including appropriate margin considerations
• Obtain relevant quotes and pricing for non-standard variations
• Negotiate rates and costs with preferred and non-standard suppliers, sub-contractors and trades
• Produce accurate documentation within budgeted time lines
• Maintaining a thorough knowledge of company products and services
• Preparing accurate BOQ's
• Excellent customer service skills, working with supervisors, suppliers, trades, and contractors
• Maintaining trade and supplier relationships

What You Need

• Minimum 5 years in an Estimating role with a custom home or high-end home builder within NSW (commercial or fit-out experience may also be considered)
• Prior experience using Estimating software (i.e. Databuild, BuildSoft, Blue Beam etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong understanding of construction methodology, and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications
