About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Restoration Technician to join a family owned business on a full-time basis based in the Gold Coast. In this field-based role, you will be responsible for the assessment, mitigation, and restoration of residential and commercial properties affected by water, fire, smoke, mould, and storm damage.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well with clients in stressful situations, and is committed to delivering high-quality results on every job.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform water damage extraction, structural drying, and moisture mapping using moisture meters, thermal imaging cameras, and dehumidifiers
- Carry out fire, smoke, and soot cleaning, odour removal, and content restoration including pack-out, cleaning, and storage of belongings
- Conduct mould assessments and remediation in line with IICRC S520 standards
- Complete detailed moisture logs, drying records, scope of works, and photographic documentation in job management software
- Conduct site hazard assessments and maintain strict WHS compliance including correct use of PPE on all sites
- Liaise professionally and empathetically with property owners and insurance assessors
- Maintain and care for all restoration equipment including air movers, dehumidifiers, HEPA air scrubbers, and extraction units
- Participate in the after-hours on-call roster and respond to emergency callouts within agreed timeframes

- WRT - Water Damage Restoration Technician
- ASD - Applied Structural Drying Technician
- AMRT - Applied Microbial Remediation Technician
- FSRT - Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician
- OCT - Odour Control Technician
Licences & Compliance
- Current Australian driver's licence (manual) - essential
- White Card - essential
- Asbestos Awareness Training or non-friable removal certificate - essential
- National Police Check - essential
- Confined Space Entry (RIIWHS202E) - preferred
About You
- Proven experience in property restoration, building services, or a related trade
- Strong working knowledge of IICRC S500, S520, and S770 standards
- Proficient with moisture meters, thermo-hygrometers, and thermal imaging cameras
- Physically fit with the ability to perform manual handling, ladder work, and work in confined spaces
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to be in a client facing role
- Self-motivated, reliable, and available for after-hours emergency callouts
