Heavy Diesel Fitter - Underground Mining | FIFO WA | Temp-to-Perm

Looking to secure long-term underground work on modern equipment, with a clear temp-to-perm pathway and excellent site facilities?
We're seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters to join a well-established underground gold operation in WA's Goldfields.

This is a FIFO role offering multiple roster options, strong hourly rates, and the opportunity to move into permanent employment after a successful contract period.

The Opportunity

You'll be working across a modern underground mining fleet, rotating between workshop and breakdown duties, supporting safe and efficient production.

Roster

8 days on / 6 days off, then 7 nights on / 7 days off

FIFO days are Wednesdays, with paid 12-hour shifts covering travel time.

Machinery on Site

You'll be working on a well-maintained, modern fleet including:

• Sandvik development and production drills

• Sandvik loaders and haul trucks

• Normet emulsion units

• Volvo integrated tool carriers

• Ancillary fleet including graders and light vehicles

All major maintenance is completed in a large, modern surface workshop (under 2 years old), with a smaller underground workshop for servicing and minor repairs.

Your Responsibilities

Workshop & Breakdown Duties:

• Scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance

• Breakdown repairs and fault finding

• Component change-outs and diagnostics

• Mechanical problem solving in both workshop and field environments

What You'll Need

Essential:

• Trade-qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter

• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills

• Ability to work autonomously and within a team

• Strong safety focus and work ethic

Highly Regarded:

• Underground hard rock mining experience

• Sandvik equipment exposure

• Previous breakdown or field service experience
