The Opportunity

A major Australian gold producer is seeking driven Senior Production Engineers to support ongoing succession planning and strengthen leadership across its underground operations. Whether you're an experienced Senior looking for a long-term ticket-holder role, or a capable Production Engineer ready for your next step up, this opportunity can accommodate.

This position operates on an 8:6 FIFO roster ex Perth, offering strong work-life balance, modern camp facilities and a high-performance technical environment.

The Role

As Senior Production Engineer, you will:
* Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team including Drill & Blast, Ventilation and Infrastructure Engineers
* Act as Alternate Underground Manager when required
* Develop functional work plans to meet production and strategic business targets
* Review and approve production drilling and charging plans
* Initiate, manage and implement improvement and infrastructure projects to enhance safety, productivity and profitability
* Coordinate stope reconciliation processes and maintain accurate internal records
* Oversee end-of-month reporting, KPI summaries and contract management insights
* Provide clear communication of risks, plans and strategic outcomes to stakeholders

Duties & Responsibilities

* Deliver safe and efficient production planning for a modern underground mine
* Oversee QA/QC across Drill & Blast and stope sequencing
* Lead cost control, scheduling, budgeting and contract partner interactions
* Drive operational optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives
* Prepare high-quality reports, reconciliations and performance summaries
* Mentor developing engineers and support technical growth across the team

Your Value

You'll bring:
* Strong capability with Deswik (UGDB, IS, CAD)
* Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
* Deep understanding of mining cost drivers and budget structures
* Underground hard-rock production experience, ideally at scale
* Strong communication, leadership and influential stakeholder skills
* Ability to present realistic plans, manage risk and drive positive outcomes
* A mindset anchored in continuous improvement, accountability and technical excellence

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering (required)
* WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate (desirable)
* WA Underground Supervisor's Certificate (desirable)
