The roster & hours
As a Field Service Technician, you'll divide your time between the field and workshop, with most work carried out across Melbourne metro sites.
- Monday: 7.00am - 3.00pm
- Tuesday to Friday: 7.00am - 3.30pm
- Standard 38-hour week
- On-call roster: 1 week every 6 weeks with an additional allowance
- Regular overtime available before and after hours at penalty rates
The role & machinery
You will work across a variety of forklifts and access equipment (including well-known global brands) with duties including:
- Breakdowns, fault finding, diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Scheduled servicing & preventative maintenance
- Component change-outs, PM work, equipment upgrades & technology updates
- Warranty repairs
- Autonomously managing field jobs, customer sites and service calls
Your skills & experience
Essential:
- Trade-qualified in diesel mechanics, heavy vehicle or mobile plant
- Experience with heavy equipment, mobile plant or similar
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hydraulic and electrical diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently in the field and resolve breakdowns
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, safety-driven and looking for a long-term, stable opportunity
Advantageous:
- Exposure to forklifts, access equipment, reach stackers, container handlers or similar
- Knowledge of CANbus / PLC systems
- Dual-trade (Diesel / Auto-Elec)
- Strong hydraulic systems knowledge
