The site and FIFO

This large UG hard rock mine is located in regional SA and only an hours flight from Adelaide. With a multi-year contract with the principal miner the site offers;-

• Attractive, modern camp set up with good facilities (gym, wet mess etc)
• The camp is close to the mine, so limited travel in and out
• A high standard of food and quality canteen
• 2:2 roster - days, then nights, then 14 off
• Interstate flights provide from capital cities

The role and duties

You will enjoy working in a team of experienced tradespeople working on a wide range of UG mining equipment in the workshop and the field. Your duties will include;-

• Surface and UG workshop maintenance duties including servicing, general repairs, PM work, schedule maintenance, breakdowns and problem solving
• Field service breakdowns including breakdowns, fault finding, diagnostics, problem solving and servicing
• Machinery - development drills, load and haul equipment, ground support and charge up equipment

Roster & hours

• 7 day shifts, 7 night shifts, 14 off - 12-hour shifts (Wednesday-Wednesday roster)
• Fly to site on day -1 (Tuesday) and stay in the camp prior to starting day shift the next morning at 6.00am
• Fly home on Wednesday morning at 8.00am (and then connect to interstate flights, where appropriate)

Your value

You will come from a mechanical trade qualification and have previous and recent experience working in the UG hard rock mining industry. Other attributes will include; -

• A knowledge of drills, boggers, trucks and or ground support equipment
• Ability to work throughout the workshop and field
• Team player and have the ability to work autonomously
• Ability to work on mechanical, hydraulic and electrical breakdowns
• A high regard to safety and following safety protocols
