About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HV Electrical Leading Hand to join our growing team in Hendra. This full-time role is a hands-on leadership position that plays a key part in the safe and efficient delivery of high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects.
As an HV Electrical Leading Hand, you will be responsible for leading small crews onsite, ensuring work is completed safely, to a high standard, and in line with project timelines and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise electrical teams on-site, ensuring all work is carried out safely and efficiently.
Support the Project Manager and Supervisors with day-to-day site operations.
Ensure compliance with all quality, environmental, and WHS requirements.
Assist with work planning and resource coordination to meet project schedules.
Mentor and guide apprentices and junior staff.
Carry out installation and maintenance of HV equipment including substations, transformers, and underground/overhead reticulation.
Conduct basic testing and verification of electrical works.
Identify potential site issues early and escalate as needed.
Maintain accurate documentation of works and ensure proper sign-offs.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Current QLD Electrical Work Licence (unrestricted).
Manual Driver's Licence.
Minimum 5 years' experience in the electrical construction industry.
Demonstrated experience working on high-voltage infrastructure.
Experience with Energex/Ergon networks highly regarded.
Understanding of switching low voltage networks.
Familiarity with substations, large customer connections, overhead and underground reticulation.
Experience working on the TMR Network and Rate 3 lighting desirable.
Strong safety focus and ability to lead by example.
Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
Proven track record of mentoring apprentices and contributing to team development.
