Hours and roster

You will enjoy a wide range of flexibility in this role and working in a fully supportive team that work together to ensure the work is complete to a high level.

  • 38 hours per week (enjoy flexible start and finish times)
  • Monday to Friday
  • Work from home 2 days per week

The role

Reporting into the HR Operations Manager you'll enjoy working closely with a large team of HR professionals and support all HR for PNG operations . Duties and responsibilities in the role will include;-

  • All Recruitment - Local hire and Foreign local hire including Job requisition support, advertisement, selection process and offer, contracts, all other recruitment for PNG
  • Onboarding activities - for PNG new hire's arrangement Hiring document, working with Payroll, other required Insurance suppliers.
  • New starter's Visa - Engaging with Sandvik engaged migrant agency and support the new employee's understanding of requirement and follow up the agency to make sure the smooth Work permit and Visa process. Communicate appropriate business management of the status of those Work permits and visa on each case.
  • New starter's Relocation/Commencement of PNG employment - Travel and administration support if needed once Work permit and Visa grant.
  • Take responsibility for all Workday data for PNG as well as EEF. (Hire transactions, change job or Termination)
  • Manage and revise as needed PNG HR policies and accordingly make an announcement.
  • Maintaining PNG internal SharePoint page accordingly
  • Working closely with Payroll and Tax team for some PNG tax issue to assist the team to solve on-going problems
  • Responsible for all required PO and Invoice matter for PNG entity (Medical booking, Visa agency etc.)
  • Any support for Audit for PNG entity with Finance team
  • All Ad-hoc internal inquiry about PNG

Your value

You will come from a strong background with 3+ years working in a HR Generalist role working for a medium to large scale business, ideally within heavy industry construction or mining. You will also showcase the following attributes and skills; -

  • Qualifications in HR (highly regarded not essential)
  • Versatile skills working in a role that presents a range of HR duties and challenges
  • Highly organised and process driven
  • Internal recruitment experience
  • Strong people skills and relationship building qualities
  • Ability to multitask and manage a number of projects and tasks at once
  • Team player and the ability to take responsibility and work unsupervised
